Daniel Plan 3/22/17: Love, Listen, Learn and Liberate

Hello again!

We are winding up the friends part of The Daniel Plan today.

I want to do an overview of the plan and continue with some personal observations for a while. As always, please don't hesitate to e-mail me if you have any questions or suggestions regarding the program.

So, today we will be covering the four L's: love, listen, learn and liberate.

First, I want to remind you of something. One of the tenets of this program, and specifically the friends portion is dependent on a few things. For starters, we must be brave enough to be authentic, to admit our issues and accept the weaknesses of others. This well help create a community where every member feels accepted and is not afraid to ask for help.

We can support each other by doing the following:

LOVE each other. Treat each other with humbleness and patients. Much like God, those who love us should always accept us where we're at, while at the same time expecting more from us. They expect us to grow.

LISTEN to each other. Admit your weaknesses and struggles, and then listen to your friends as they share the same.

LEARN from each other. Share what works and what doesn't work for you. Tell each other about what you have tried in faith, food, fitness and focus.

LIBERATE each other. Do this, by showing each other grace. Encourage each other when you've made mistakes or hit a roadblock in your journey.

Paul tells us in 1 Thessalonians:

Encourage one another and build each other up
— 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Community helps us all succeed in our goals, and also brings us joy. Through relationships with others, we get to live in the love that God wants to give us.

Today's Bible verse:

No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.
— John 4:12

Until tomorrow.
